We had so much fun on Sat. Feb. 13th. We spent a wonderful Sat. teaching Soap 101 to the UGA Scavma students. They work so hard to become top quality veterinarians! Normal Soap was happy to support a relaxing class that teaches you to make something so useful… each student took home their handmade cold process soap!
Students spend the first part of class learning about the history of soap, ingredient selection, difference in cold process vs. hot process vs melt and pour… we go over safety and what trace is.
Then one of the certified soap instructors demonstrates step-by step how to make it. Then the fun begins as each student begins their own batch of cold process soap from start to finish with the helpful instructors to aid when necessary. The soaps are scented with pure essential oils that each student gets to choose.
