Soap Making 102: Herbs and Clays to Color Soap Naturally!
The color palette in nature provides perfect hues for your natural soaps! This class focuses on using herbs and clays to design naturally colorful soap. Learn how to add herbs and clays as well as a few swirl and layering design techniques to add interest and botanical benefits to your handmade soap creations! All levels welcome. You will walk away with about 2-3 lbs of soap. Soap 101 is not a prerequisite but it is helpful to already know the basics of soap making as we will not delve into the specifics in 102. All levels welcome! You will walk away with about 2-3 lbs of soap so you need multiple molds as we will test out different color techniques in 1 lb batches.
Class/Instructors Will Provide:
- instruction
- materials and ingredients, herbs, clays and essential oils
- apron, gloves, and safety goggles
Remember to Bring:
- wear clothes you won't mind getting dirty (long sleeves, pants, and close toed shoes for safety)
- a willingness to learn and a smile!
***REMINDER***
Fees cover instruction, safety equipment (apron, gloves and glasses) and all soaping-making ingredients. It DOES NOT include a mold. We will be making 2-3 lbs of soap in 1 lb batches so you need multiple molds. You may buy a 1 lb silicone square soap mold from us for $10, bring your own or up-cycle an appropriate vessel like a milk carton or something similar. Read about it here:
