These are handmade by Normal Soap Company and contain the highest quality ingredients. Careful formulation and research lead to this delightful shampoo bar. We couldn't launch it until we had a packaging system that matched our ethos. The biodegradable film provides the final touch. Compostable materials are important in reducing the waste that goes into landfills. A compostable material will break down completely by biological processes in a time frame consistent with natural materials such as food waste, without leaving any toxic or environmentally damaging residues.
Our hair is acidic and we need our hair products to have an acidic pH. Solid Shampoo bars are all the rage but if you buy from someone that doesn't know hair or chemistry it could lead to damage if they don't know their formula.
Handmade soap is lovely for our skin but has a pH of above 8 in many cases which can rough up the hair cuticle leading to friction, tangles and damage... as well as a loss of shine. Adding in a vinegar rinse afterwards is like a double whammy of damage on those fluffed up cuticles on the hair shaft with its pH of 2-3. Soap 'shampoo' bars that handmade soap enthusiasts make just aren't great for hair based on their high pH.
Enter solid shampoo bars... no soap about it. We make solid shampoo bars from ECOcert ingredients derived from Organic coconut oil packed with provitamin B5, Silk Proteins and Organic Cocoa Butter. We also pH test our bars to make sure they are the best product for your hair. Also easy to travel with and reduces plastic by being solid... no bottle necessary.
Ask your soap maker if they know that hair products should be acidic and ask whether they test their bars...
TO USE - Circle the bar gently over wet hair once or twice depending on hair length. Or swipe top to bottom to keep tangles at bay while lathering up with fine hair. You can also lather in your hands and then apply to hair. Use sparingly - it's very concentrated! Massage the shampoo bar along your roots and massage the lather to the ends of your hair. Rinse thoroughly. Condition as normal.
Keep dry between uses. Please do not allow the shampoo bar to sit in water between uses.

Featuring Baobab Protein for superior hair damage recovery. The proteins are obtained from the large Baobab fruit seeds produced by the Adansonia digitat trees native to Africa. Also called the “tree of life” due to its ability to store water and withstand the harsh climate.
Citrus Bliss - Featuring Orange, Grapefruit, and Tangerine Essential Oils & touch of Mango Butter. This bright energizing shampoo is a real eye opener.
